Home Learning 14-03-08

14 Mar

Well done with those Sudokus, they were a little tricky, but I know you enjoyed them. There is now a Sudoku page on the blog so you can get a new one every day if you want.

This week’s home learning is all about uplevelling sentences. What I want you to do is improve these sentences below. If you are in the Van Gogh group, then just do one. But otherwise have a go at as many as you can. Can you make them more interesting? Remember, to uplevel a sentence you have to think about using adjectives, adverbs, because and also the order of the sentence. You may also want to think about similies and alliteration to make them really fantastic!

  1. The cat ran along the path.
  2. The spider sat in the web.
  3. The boat went along the river.
  4. The tree was tall.

You can write them on paper for your home learning folder, or if you want put them on the blog as comments to this post. Just remember our rules for commenting on the blog. Good luck, I look forward to being amazed by your uplevelled sentences.

Great sentences from those who have posted so far. Remember that if you start the sentence with because you will need a comma to separate out the different parts of the sentence.
