Performance Poetry

As part of Reading Week we have been looking at reading and performing poetry.  Here is our attempt at a class performance of The Pig by Roald Dahl.  Have a listen – we recorded it as part of our plenary.

Well done to those who have started top learn a poem as part of home learning.  Keep on going next week, we’ll be having our contest in a few weeks.  We’ll try and podcast some of the best performances.

Home Learning 08-02-08

Well done with your Fractions Home Learning project, there were some great pieces of work.

Your next Home Learning project is to make your own Rainforest in a bag! You will get an instruction booklet to take home, and as rainforests need time to grow, your home learning is due on the first day back after the February Break. Good luck!

Just a reminder about the podcast. The BirchCast has been ill recently, but its better now with new episodes to listen to, and you can find the link to subscribe to it on the BirchCast page of the blog. I’m working on the ability to play direct from the blog again.

French on the blog

The podcast has been updated with an episode on bones and a french song.  Subscribe to it at the usual place http://www.podiumpodcasting.com/~182721/BirchClass171007135703/rss.xml.

It seems to have renumbered episodes, so episode 2 is the bones and episode 3 is the french song.  You can play them direct from the blog below.

We looked at numbers to 20 today and thought you might like to practise, so here is that triangle puzzle to print out and play at home.  Challenge your family and friends to complete it in as little time as possible.

The BirchCast

The most recent version of the BirchCast is now live.  I think its changed address since last time for some reason, so you may need to subscribe again.  Anyway, its well worth it!  Just drag the address below into iTunes or something similar.  I’ll work on the embedded version.
