25 May

Wow, its been a week of glorious weather and some seriously hard work for the Foxes. Well done with you maths challenges, and well done too for the way you have embraced the iPads in the classroom.

This week’s home learning task is complete the 100 Word Challenge. The prompt for this week is

Write a piece of persuasive writing. It can be to tell people about the 100WC and why they should join in or vote for it or something completely different. You must just convince them to do what you want!

So I want you to persuade me about something. Remember all that persuasive vocabulary and try to convince me. Anyone who wants to get their 100 words on the blog and onto the 100WC blog will need to get them to me before Tuesday lunchtime, but otherwise the deadline is Thursday 31st May.

In addition, your spellings this week are all jubilee themed. So see how many you can spell correctly during our Jubilee celebration week.

I think that it would be really good if the school extended our breaks because we don’t burn off enough energy and were still quite hyper when we get in. I also think we should be able to play on the rec instead of having to sit under the Oak tree at lunch break and not have much to do. I think that if there were vote there would be quite a lot of votes for playing on the Rec. instead of under the tree doing nothing for an hour. Thank you.

I can see your point LL. Well done, perhaps you could have included an opposite argument too.

SHAVE YOUR BEARD OFF MR C!!!

MR C has a beard and has had it for ages and now it’s time to put a stop to it. If MR C shaved his beard he could use it for tonnes of things and it would become really handy, like using the hair as a white board rubber or knit the hair into cozy socks. The shaven chin would also be able to help him run like the wind because it could cut through the air.

    FROM Billy

PS. I don’t really think you should shave your beard off, I like it.

Cheers Billy, I like the beard too. However, I like the idea of being able to cut through the air when running! Well done.

Dancing is the best, it makes people smile and enjoy themselves while doing something sporty.

You can get loads of trophies doing exams or competitions, dance in a team or pair or on your own. Trust me, you will have so much fun. There are millions of different types of dance from street to ballet – there’s one just for you. Through all this you are keeping fit.

Dancing to music makes you want to dance more, it keeps you awake. You can dance to songs of anykind.

    persuasive writing piece
    Dear mr Cobb
I think it would be really great if children were allowed to wear slippers to school.
    REASONS:
    1) we would be much more comfortable and our brians might work better.
    2) if we had nothing to do we could put our heads down. i.e. take a nap
    3) we could go to sleep on the rec.
    4) we would have a nicer time and would be able to compare and comment on each others slippers.
please mr Cobb just think about it.

Mr C has a beard, but I don’t think that it’s long enof. Mr C should grow his beard to extreme length, so he looks like Gandalf, and looking like Gandalf would make him look really wise, but he already is wise so that’ll add on and make him even wiser! Also you could store confiscated toys and pencils in it (make sure you don’t look silly, keep thenm out of site). I know this sounds silly but, look after your beard and it will turn out fine and look awesome, and if you don’t and it gets all messy like Mr Twit then you will be in deep trouble! SO GROW YOUR BEARD SENCIBLY!!!!

I really like the way you have embraced the beard debate and have offered some persuasive arguments.
