Stop the Clock

01 May

Its time to revise our time knowledge. Have a go at the different challenges on the Stop the Clock site. After a bit of practice have a go at this problem – its a game of tactics and time knowledge. Once you have played a game a few times have a think about these questions:

What happens if your opponent gets to 10.30? Why?

How can you make sure you get exactly onย 12ย o’clock? What time would you leave on the clock so that you can get to 12.00 on your next go, after your opponent has been?
So, what time would you want the clock to say on the go before that?
How can you work out these “key times” that you must “land on” on your way to the target?
Add your ideas to this post.

I (RC) try to push the time to 10:45. Try it for yourself! ๐Ÿ˜› Your oppenent has NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER of winning after that’s the time. (unless you fail) ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ™‚

The opponent can win if you press either 1 hour or half an hour but if you press 3/4 or 1/4 you should win

I love this post as our class on the other side of the world begins to connect with you… To think – you are busy learning while we are all sleeping. As you head home, do your homework and have your dinner.. we are just getting up out of our beds… This is one of our favourite time games – http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks1/maths/telling_the_time/play/popup.shtml You probably know it though as it is a BBC game.
