Wii Maths

14 Mar

Yesterday’s Wii Maths session saw us using the Long Jump event to get better at finding differences between distances in decimals. After the session we spoke about what made it a good maths session, and what we could do in future Wii Maths sessions. Add your ideas below as to which games would be possible to use and how they could help develop our mathematics knowledge.Ā

You are so lucky you get to do long jump on a wii in math. We don’t have a wii but we could look for a fun and educational app for the iPads/iPods. We have to do addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions in math. What is the funnest wii game that you have done for math? Is it long jump?Is it golf?

What is your favourite game to play on the Wii? Why? Stu8’s favourite Wii game is SSBB (aka Super Smash Bros. Brawl). Stu13’s favourite Wii game is The Legend of Zelda Dark Uprising. Stu18’s favourite Wii game is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.

I think it’s really good that you get to use a Wii to do maths. Maybe you could use a Wii game like Carnival games and you could add up all your scores and see which person is the best!

It was a good method of learning maths facts AND revising them. Hopefully you’ll get the chance to use it this year too!
