After your charity presentations the class chose WWF (World Wildlife Fund) for their class charity – so well done Amaryllis for persuading the class. Now its time to raise some money for our chosen charity. You home learning task is to come up with an idea to raise money for WWF. It needs to be a plan which won’t cost much to run, so we can maximise the amount we raise. Click on the image to link to WWFs website if you need inspiration.  So get your thinking caps on and present your idea to me by Thursday 6th October.

    My Homework

My idea was to have a car wash in the play ground on a Saturday (because everyone on a weekday will be at work so they wouldn’t be able to have a car wash)
at 9:00-10:00 in the morning. It will cost £3 for a car
so we will get paid and our money will go to the World Wildlife fund!

I had anouther idea that everyone just hands in a £5 so we would raise loads. Where as if everyone baked a cake it would cost time and money to pay for the ingredients so we would be spending less if our parents handed in £5.

Hello Mr Cobb, and class. I am Grace, from the Busy Bees class.

Doing a fundraiser for WWF sounds like a great idea. I have’t got any idea’s of what your class could do, but your class will come up with some great ideas! A class at my school did something like this a few years ago, and they sold some toys that they didn’t want.
Your blog is very interesting and I am hoping to visit it again.

    From Grace.

People would bring in un wanted games – Wii, Xbox, psp, Playstation, Ds or cds, dvds and swap them with someone else. Each time you swap a game you put £1 in the box. This would mean one swap would generate £2. I would call this Charity Swap Shop.

    Idea 1: Book Exchange

Following on from SBs idea, everyone in the class could bring in five books that they’ve read and no longer want. There’s 28 of us in the class, so if we each brought in five books, and exchanged each book for £1, that would mean we could raise £140 for WWF, and even better if more books could get brought in!

    Idea 2: Sponsored Run

We hold an event one day after school when everyone in the school/class runs 1 lap around the rec or even more. We could ask parents and grand parents to donate £1 for every lap there child/grandchild. If all 28 of us ran 1 lap each and got £2 sponsorship, we’d raise £56. If we ran more laps or got more sponsorship the total would be higher.

    Idea 3: Barcombe Cruffs

A lot of us in the class have dogs or relatives who have a dog, we could hold a dog show. Each dog owner pays a three pound entry fee, and can enter their dog in to a number of different categories, to win a rosette or a bone. The categories could include THE MOST OBEDIENT DOG, THE MOST GLAMOROUS ( DOG FANCY DRESS) ( no offence if you dog doesn’t win! ) THE FASTEST, AND BEST IN SHOW. The dog show could be extended so any class can participate. If we had 30 entry’s wed raise £90. The class could create posters to create publicity for the event.
