Bridge Building

Today was DT day and for this term it was a bridge building competition. Have a look at the videos below of the two strongest bridges in our tests. What makes one more successful than the other? Why were these two bridges stronger in general?

    Some excellent work shown on these videos. You’ve shown some great practical engineering in your designs.

    Triangles are geometrically strong and efficient.

    To follow up with your excellent bridge work, take a look around on your way to/from school, or when you may be out at the weekend and see how many structures you can see that incorporate triangles in their structure. For a first clue, take a look at your bike ! 😉

    Our groups was best, we used lots of triangles.
