Who wrote this book? Why does it grab you, is it the characters?

“Diary of a wimpy kid: Roderic rules”

I like this book because the story is in a diary format. It is funny and exciting and Gregory gets into lots of scrapes.

The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien. Must say that this is a typical boy’s book. It is about a Hobbit called Bilbo Baggins who is asked to go on a quest by a wizard called Gandalf to retrieve treasure guarded by a dragon. He has lots of adventures and battles on the way with Troll’s and other creatures, but eventually defeats the dragon and gets the treasure. This book is very exciting and very descriptive which puts pictures in your mind of the setting. Read this for the first time when I was 10 and have read it many times since.

I love reading the ‘Witches’ by Roald Dahl. it has got a great storyline and has surprises all the way through. My favourite bit was when they found out where the witches met and went to try and steal the potion.
