Home Learning 09-05-2008

Wow, what great research into the first moon landings!  I was really pleased how your home learning had an impact on your diaries you wrote yesterday – they were crammed full with facts to make them more realistic.  Well done.

This week’s home learning is to do with Mrs Edward’s work with you in art.  I want you to investigate your star sign.  Which constellation is connected to your birthday?  Draw it out for use in art next week.  Also, try and design a constellation (a picture shown in the stars).  Draw that out too, as you are going to be creating a piece of art using these images.  Good luck, if you need assistance finding images of your star sign let me know.

Lastly, a plea to family members out there!  Last week’s Talk Topic was about memories of the moon landings.  We had an interesting discussion and we would like to do more with it next week.  What I’m looking for is anyone who doesn’t mind us recording their memories  for use in a  multimedia presentation.  Also, anyone who would be willing to comment their thoughts on the blog, so we can use direct quotes.  Thank you.

I spoke to my grandad who said that he was 29 when the first man stepped onto the moon. He watched it on TV in Brighton, with his mother. He said “I was fascinated by how little there was on the moon. I thought there would be more! I was also very worried about how Neil Armstrong would get home!”

Great SK, good use of speech marks to show exactly what he said. Did your granddad say what time on the day he watched it? Did he stay up late?

when you are doing your homework if you have google earth you can click on the button on the top right hand side which looks like a picture of saturn on it when you have click on it where you type places and everything you can type in your starsign and it will show you what it looks like

    hope this helps
