Pumpkin Poetry

12 Oct

Birch Class wrote a poem after returning from the allotment today.  Here it is.

The Pumpkin

On the dew covered ground it grows, ripeninng and fattening in the misty sunlight.

A smooth ,chunky football hidden by the autumnal leaves.

Beneath the  orange armour, the tender taste of autumn.

A spotty, speckly giant poking out its spiky tendrils.

The pumpkin is ready to harvest.

What a fantastic poem! We have a great set of Guided Reading books on pumpkins if your class would like to borrow them. They have beautiful photos.
