Highwayman Photostory

You’ve produced some great Highwayman videos using Photostory. Here’s the example we showed in today’s assembly.

I’ll try and get the animation we created online in the next few days.

Uplevelling time

Over this week we have been looking at different sentence structures and have had a go at creating our own sentences based on those used in Street Child. Have a look at these sentences that were written by one of the class. What do you like about it, what works well? What would you improve next time? Can you use the 3i approach (Imitate, Innovate and Invent) to write your own sentences based on the original structure and using a Street Child setting?

Jim slipped into the street, his heart pounding. Jim lowered his head and turned around away from the workhouse.

Workhouse Escape

In Literacy we’ve been looking at whether Jim should escape the Workhouse or not. Look at these notes about persuading him of one course of action. What have the authors done well? How persuasive are the notes? What could they do next time?

Fox Poetry on Google Docs

This morning in Literacy we completed our unit of poetry with a session creating poems about Foxes using similies. We worked collaboratively to create this presentation of the poems, editing our first drafts with our response partners as we went along.

What do you think of our poems? What did we do well? Are there any phrases you particularly like? What could we improve on next time?

100 WC Week 2 – William

It was New Years Eve 2022 and I went for a walk in Agnon’s wood when a huge blinding light was right in front of my face! At first I thought I was in a dream but I new I wasn’t.  I started running but suddenly a giant ray of cold mist was coming strait at me. It was so fast I couldn’t turn back it was all over! I was literally an iceberg. I was frozen for a life time! Suddenly I felt warm the ice was melting but I wasn’t in the wood any more I was in a UFO.

100 WC – Week 2 – Laela

Last night at midnight I was walking through a spooky dark forest on my way home from a sleepover when suddenly I saw a light coming towards me. I ducked and when I came up there was a massive meteor right in front of me. If  I hadn’t of moved out the way I would have been squashed. I looked at it and touched it, it was hot. I didn’t know what to do but before I could do anything an alien space ship came down and took the meteor and that was the last time I saw that again.
