100 WC Week 32 – Ed

I want to convince you London is the best place to spend your 2012 summer holiday. This summer London is hosting the Olympic Games. This only happens every four years. You can visit the Olympic stadium, the O2 or the cycling track. There is so much to do.

By spending your holiday in England you will help locals make money from their jobs. Tourists spend money in hotels, buying food and souvenirs.

Also you will enjoy the exciting landmarks there are in London. You can see from the London Eye, you can hide in Hyde Park and you can monkey around London Zoo!

Don’t go abroad because in London you won’t be bored!

100 WC Week 32 – Lucas

I think that it would be really good if the school extended our breaks because we don’t burn off enough energy and were still quite hyper when we get in. I also think we should be able to play on the rec instead of having to sit under the Oak tree at lunch break and not have much to do. I think that if there were vote there would be quite a lot of votes for playing on the Rec. instead of under the tree doing nothing for an hour. Thank you.

SHAVE YOUR BEARD OFF MR C!!!

MR C has a beard and has had it for ages and now it’s time to put a stop to it. If MR C shaved his beard he could use it for tonnes of things and it would become really handy, like using the hair as a white board rubber or knit the hair into cozy socks. The shaven chin would also be able to help him run like the wind because it could cut through the air.

Home Learning 25-05-2012

Wow, its been a week of glorious weather and some seriously hard work for the Foxes. Well done with you maths challenges, and well done too for the way you have embraced the iPads in the classroom.

This week’s home learning task is complete the 100 Word Challenge. The prompt for this week is

Write a piece of persuasive writing. It can be to tell people about the 100WC and why they should join in or vote for it or something completely different. You must just convince them to do what you want!

So I want you to persuade me about something. Remember all that persuasive vocabulary and try to convince me. Anyone who wants to get their 100 words on the blog and onto the 100WC blog will need to get them to me before Tuesday lunchtime, but otherwise the deadline is Thursday 31st May.

In addition, your spellings this week are all jubilee themed. So see how many you can spell correctly during our Jubilee celebration week.

100 WC Week 25 – Lucas

The Incompetent Detective walked into the asylum, he went up to the receptionist and asked to see
Barry Krishner (The man who accidentally ran someone over with a steam roller.) They arrived by the cell where the receptionist left him, He pressed on the buzzer, it opened and a man with a thick German accent asked “How can I help you?” and introduced himself as Dr.Eams . They sat down and the Detective said “it must have been a crushing experience” Barry jumped out of his skin, Dr.Eams then said “like a drink Barry?” “Yes maybe some squash?” Barry fell out of the window.

The big black spider was crawling over the floor I tried not to think about it, I was scared of spiders terribly scared, I don’t know I’m going to tell you this but here it is, why I’m scared of spiders. It was just a normal day I was going to visit my best friend in hospital because she had broken here leg when suddenly a big black spider was crawling over the floor I tried not to think about it, I was scared of spiders terribly scared an enormous spider bit me I fell backwards and was unconscious for the whole week and that is why I’m scared of spiders.

Thank you to all of you who found out about bread, blogged about bread and brought bread in this week.  This year’s home learning task is to have a go at another 100 Word Challenge. This one has a picture of a spider and a few words as a prompt.  Try and include some complex sentences, using commas to add in extra information.

February Break Home Learning

Its half-term next week, so I’m posting a couple of home learning tasks for you to have a go at. Choose one of these writing tasks (or perhaps both) and have a go. You can comment a response on this post, or use DropItToMe to send it electronically. Alternatively bring it in to school when we return and we’ll share your responses with the class under the visualiser.

Task one: complete the 100 Word Challenge for this week. The prompt can be found on the 100WC site and it is;

…it wasn’t my fault…

Task two: write a 500 word story for the Radio 2 500 Words challenge. This could be on any subject, so is an opportunity to really impress me – and of course Chris Evans! If you want to enter the competition for real, submit your entry using the form online.

As a final task; if anyone needs to complete (or do more for) their Roman project, why not use the holiday to go to the library or a museum and found out fabulous Roman facts.
